REVIEW:
by Oh! Hailey from the message boards

“We got to the venue and hung out outside for a while until Jeff let us in to watch soundcheck again. We watched that, where they practiced life and love and why for quite a while. We then went outside to hand out more flyers, and when he got on the radio to get or passes he said something like “the stalkers are here to get their passes” and the manager replied “um, please refer to them as ‘footsoliders’. My mom ran into Aaron from Copeland and he said he had seen us the last few shows, and so when Copeland was done warming up we got a picture with those guys. Then all the people that worked got in the front before the doors opened and waited for everyone else.”

“During Copeland’s set they had to pull a guy out who was looking pretty bad, security was opening his mouth for him to make him drink. Copeland stopped playing and Aaron was like “You okay buddy? Everyone okay? You all getting enough to drink? Hey, how about this, everyone take 2 steps back. I’m serious, if you are in the crowd, take 2 steps backward.” It was really cool of him, and actually helped a lot.”

“Switchfoot was great, they played: awakening, american dream, gone, ammunition, 4:12, shadow proves the sunshine, this is your life, stars, burn out bright, we are one tonight, faust, midas, and myself, learning to breathe, dirty second hands, oh! gravity, meant to live, let your love be strong, and dare you to move. Somehow a tie ended up on stage and Jon ended up wearing it for part of the show. The crowd was good, a little pushy, but still good. Jon went crazy on the cymbal on DSH, which is always fun.”

“Afterwards, we all hung out in the venue until Tim, Jerome and Chad came out, and we talked to them for a little bit. Apparently we were in the Spokane airport (which is tiny) at the same time as Tim that morning, but in the only other terminal, so we didn’t see him. Weird coincidence. We talked about some of their favorite citites and what it’s like to be in a different one everyday. I asked him if Awakening was the next single and he said yes and that it would be out in March. After we talked to all of them we went outside to find Jon and Drew. Jon and I talked about how the Eugene show was better, and how they really wanted to play an aftershow in Vancouver the next night. They couldn’t play one that night because they wanted to get on the road to make sure they had plenty of time to get over the border.”

“I think it’s gonna be one of *those* nights, and I like it.” Haha, it definitely was. I was there, so I can testify: It was crazy awesome. This was the first concert where they played “Burn out Bright”, as well, which is one of my absolute favorites - so that was really amazing. Much love to Tim, Jon, Chad, Drew, and Jerome for making it a night to remember.

That was the sweetest show ever…ya know that tie that Jon wore for burn out bright and such…that was my tie…i got in trouble at work the next day because that was my only tie, and when he threw it back into the crowd, and i never got it back, but it was AWESOME!

Omg, that was awesome. I was wondering where that tie came from! Definitely a worthy cause.

Haha, Ben — I was just going through the pictures I took at the concert (to send to the admin here), and I got one of Jon putting your tie on! XD

i was @ this concert and it was sweet. through my connections I was able to get an “After Show Pass”.

It was sweet. I met the guys from the band and told Jerome that I would school him in ping-pong.

yea it was funny…when I got to talk to them outside, Jon apologized about my tie, and I just laughed. They’re very down-to-earth people…it like ‘em.

Hey, it’s me. The guy that passed out during the Copeland concert. I’m ok, I was just a little dehydrated. But hey, everyone got free water, lol, So I think it was worth it.
I had a great time though, I knew I was going to pass out. In fact I told my friend next to me, “I’m going to pass out.” then I did.
Never passed out before, it was cool; confusing, but cool.
Jon was the nicest guy ever.
A very memorable concert.
