REVIEW:

“ok, so I have a feeling that this is going to end up *really* long, oh well, I won’t be offended if nobody reads it all… As some of you probably read I won the Candadian contest for the city of Calgary, so I was there really early and met up with a guy from Sony. At first they just let me in, and then my friend. Chad was walking around in the corner that we had to walk by, I tryed to not look at him cuz I had a feeling that I already looked like a creepy stalker girl with my shirt (I got some good looks for that one as I sat at the university and waited for the guy, haha). As we were standing waiting Jon and Chad came by and said hi, and then Tim. I think Chad went on an adventure to find Jerome, and I ended up interviewing Chad and Jerome. Haha, they tryed to find a quiet place, so we ended up in some random stairwell with the 3 of us on a landing, two guys from sony and my friend at the top, and (I think) Andy videoing it (I’m like 99% positive that it was Andy, does he have long shaggy hair and plastic rimed glasses?? I just assumed it was some guy from Sony.. anyways if it was Andy I never said hi, so HI ANDY!, if you ever read this..) I’m not sure what exactly I’m allowed to say about the interview but Chad seemed kinda taken back by the hero question, Oh! Gravity’s cover was done by drop-ink (I think that’s what it’s called) I thought that was really cool (so did my friend, she has a degree in fine arts, and is therefore an art geek), and Jerome would be an octopus, and Chad would be a dolphin haha. And the best part of the inverview… I FORGOT A QUESTION! haha I’m pro-star, if I do say so myself (I ended up telling Jon later nad he said that maybe that’s just they way it’s supposed to be sometimes, lol. and I think Chad just laughed at me when I told him later). I realized it the second I walked out, and the two guys from sony and my friend were both like “ya I thought there was another one” I was kinda mad that they didn’t say anything, but my friend didn’t wasnt to embarass, but it was still embarassing anyways.. After the interview we took a couple pictures and they signed a CD for me (ok and I had this arguement with the guy from Sony and my firend.. it’s different than the one I own! The insert is shiney, not normal paper, and Switchfoot is written in red, on my CD it’s in black, and there are different labels on it, the one I own has Sparrow on it, the one I was given diesn’t. So Josh, if you ever read this, I’m not crazy, they are different!) We wondered around Mac Hall for a really long time looking for the tickets I was supposed to get, but never did find them, so I got put on the guest list!”
“We didn’t really have anything to do for like 3 hours so we decided to wait in line with 7 other hard core poeple. Jon came by and introduced himself to everyone, and chatted for a bit… and told us he would see if he could get us into the soundcheck… which we did! there was aobut 15-20 of us by the time we went in. It was really cool, and they played some songs that they didn’t play at the concert (they did life and love and why!) they came down after and chatted, took photos, adn signed autographs. Jerome still rememberd our names (We were really impressed!) and I got to meet Drew who wasn’t there before. hehe when I went to take a picture with him I told him that he dind’t really look all that excited for “nice” pictures so I asked him if he wanted to take a silly one, haah I think he liked it.”
“We went back down and got squished at the front of the line. Eventually we (all the sounk check people that is) got pulled out front… and there were roumers that they were going to let us in last cuz they thought that other people had gotten there first (that would have made me SO mad!) but no, we got let in first! so my friend and I ened up in the front row.. right infront of Jon. I have to say that was the squishiest night of my life, and yay for hip bones, I think they saved my inter….” (post got cut off)
(continues…) “… I have to say that was the squishiest night of my life, and yay for hip bones, I think they saved my internal organs from certain death.. (goes on rant in head of people acting stupind in the crowd.. but I’m sure none of you really care..) Copeland played.. and then Switchfoot came! set list (as the security gurad took a pic for me, ahah they were awsome) stars, gravity, canadin dream (although they still sang it american dream), amateur lovres, more than fine (how is it that I STILL screw up the words to this song?!?..), this is your life (which I thought was AMAZING), yuppie, (not in pic, but the shaddow proves the sunshine was moved, i believe, I think it was here), gone, ammo, one tonight, learning to breathe (night’s winner), faust, shaddow (like i said, i think it was moved), dirty 2nd hands, awakening, meant to live. encore: only hope (YES!!!) and dare you to move (another one I really wanted to hear). Jon broke not one, but two strings (all I could think aobut was that quote in which he didn’t like playing live at first cuz things like that would happen..). we were told by one of the security guards that where ever there was yellow tape Jon would be stepping *looks down and sees yellow tape under hands* it was funny cuz he did it alot too. it’s kinda ackward though cuz when he stepped on it everyone would push foreward, and there you are with his foot right infront of you, trying to not push him off. haha he ended up with one foot on either sid of me once, so I could quite literally look up and see right up his nose, haah (note this is a joke, I was not looking up his nose). And apparently Calgay sucks at crowd surfing, cuz Jon tryed and he was more or less dropped and he landed on my friends head. I laughed at her SO hard for that. Jon did some cymbol baning (I recorded most of it, but the security guard was glaring at me..) Tim told a story about the last time they were here and he said that he went to take a nap on a bench (the venue is at the university, and it was summer, so there wouldn’t have been many people around) and he said that he woke up to someone who was coming to the show taking his picture.. poor Tim, I hate it when people don’t realize that they are people too, and need their space, oh well.”
“Since I ended up with two extra tickes, my friend and her little sister came. they wasnted to stay and get autographs but her little sister had to go home, so my friend and I stayed to try and get her ticket signed and so that my friend could get her poster signed (she didnt have anything all day for them to sign..) I kind think they were like “you’re here again!” but Chad told me that I did a good interview and high-fived me for it, lol. We saw Chad and Jon pretty quick, and Tim came out a bit later. We waited for like half and hour for Jerome and Drew, but I was in t-shirt and I had looked at what the temp was supposed to be and I think it was a low of -11c. So we went inside hoping that we would catch them on the way out (haha Jon saw us and said something to the extent of don’t freeze, and so we told him that was why we were going inside, and he sent the three other people that were still waiting inside too, lol). Jerome eventually came, but we never saw Drew. I kinda think he was missing or something cuz we saw Tim running around and Jon was wondering around too. Jon asked us who we were waiting for and we said Drew, but that we had given up (haha he offered to forge it!) The kidna scary thing is that I think I may have developed mild hypothermia waiting outside. I was never shivvering that much outside, but when we came inside, we were there for awhile and then I started to shiver again. I knew it was dumb, but my coat was in my car, and my car was kinda far away.. oh well.. Anyways now that this has ended up stupidly long I’ll stop typing. I’ll attempt to get pics/videos up somewhere, but I am majorly thechnologically incomepatant… I can also send in the bootleg (where do I send it??..) but neither mine nor my firends came with a sticker, what’s up with that?? It was an awsome day, although it still feels increadibly surreal.”
