Comment by Renny — March 5, 2007 @ 3:06 pm
yeah that was great…when he jumped off the bar he landed right in front of me…i gave him a high five, it was great….the guitar tec gave me the set list when they were done ![]()
Comment by Brandon — March 6, 2007 @ 5:29 pm
Who got that free electric guitar? That was pretty cool! It was so incredible to see Jon up close and personal! I wanted to follow them around from city to city after that show!
Comment by Jenn Klassen — March 12, 2007 @ 9:04 am
ha ha yeah i cant believe he threw that guitar out into the crowd..but i saw the security guard rush in and grab it and take it back to the stage…but that would be totally awesome to get a free $1000 Gibson SG
Comment by Brandon — March 12, 2007 @ 7:04 pm
Oh, I didn’t know they took the guitar back! Did they get the cow bell back too? LOL! I hope your took your set list and ran! Still, it was an awesome show! Have you seen the latest podcast? number 19 has West Edmonton Mall in it. Its hilarious!
Comment by Jenn Klassen — March 13, 2007 @ 1:11 pm
ha ha yeah totally…i rolled it up and put it in my sleeve..yeah, they took back the cowbell too..yeahthe podcast was hilarious…they shoulda gone down the skyscreamer instead of the dolphin slide!
Comment by Brandon — March 13, 2007 @ 6:46 pm
……….and i totally would have voted for drew to be canadian idol… too bad they couldnt get an audition
Comment by Brandon — March 13, 2007 @ 6:48 pm
Hey if we keep talking like this, we can get the comments for the Edmonton show to the top! Did they really take the cow bell back?
No way! Did you see them take it back? I want proof!
I thought the dolphin slide was a great touch! Anybody can go on the Skyscreamer but not just anybody can tackle the dolphin!
I wanted them to give Drew an audtion on Canadian Idol too! I found it hilarious that the lady didn’t know who she was talking to! Tim did a great job of the Rhinestone Cowboy!
Comment by Jenn Klassen — March 13, 2007 @ 9:35 pm
ha ha ha good idea…a great way to show off how much the concert ROCKED!!! but seriously, yeah they did take the cowbell back…at least i think so…i know the people got to keep the drumsticks, but im not too sure about the cowbell. ha ha ha yeah, those guys can sing…too bad the auditions people had no clue who they were talking to ha ha ha fun stuff those guys are hilarious…but suck at guitar hero lol they butchered ‘heart shaped box’
Comment by Brandon — March 15, 2007 @ 7:00 pm
Hey Brandon, you seem so knowledgable, question, is there a significance to the title 4:12 (as in the song)? Like, is it a Bible reference? Any thoughts? We’ve been going through the bible checking out, every book, beginning at Genesis, looking up chapter 4 verse 12. Some can be hilarious! I think they should say its 2 Samuel 4:12, if you have a Bible handy check it out! Its pretty sweet! Or Ezekiel 4:12, that one’s pretty narly! Anyhow, I may post it somewhere on their website but thought I’d get your take on it.
Yes those guys totally sucked on guitar hero! Which makes me wonder if Drew would have bombed his audition for Canadian Idol had he gotten one?
Cheers!
Comment by Jenn Klassen — March 16, 2007 @ 7:10 am
yeah…im not sure if thre’s any significance in the sng title, except that its sung in the first few lines of the song…’been wakin’ up at 4:12′ i dunno…maybe it has a biblical reference, im not too sure..but i’ll check up on it tonite…no, im sure drew would have nailed his audition…he rocks!
Comment by Brandon — March 16, 2007 @ 2:23 pm
I highly recommend you check out 2 Samuel 4:12 and Ezekiel 4:12, their a hoot! Well, you know! Any idea what Tim’s family emergency was/is that he had to leave the tour? In other news, did you have any rockin pictures to submit for the photo section of the concert? My pal took some amazing pictures of Jon when he was three feet away from us on the counter. Ultra cool! I submitted those. I went online to Switchfoot’s official boards and I have to say that I enjoy this smaller venue of communication so much better. Oh Podcast 20 is out on youtube. I’ll attach the link here. What do yah think?

Comment by Jenn Klassen — March 16, 2007 @ 2:49 pm
no, i dont have any pics…my camera on my phone is pretty crappy..and i forgot my regular camera…the podcast wasnt as good as the last one, though.
Comment by Brandon — March 17, 2007 @ 6:20 pm
My pal got some sweet pictures and gave me a disc. I’ve t’weeked them a bit and their really good. I could email some to you, my regular email is jensklan@telus.net put Switchfoot pictures in the subject line so I don’t delete you. I liked Drew’s groovy dancing on podcast 20.
I thought Tim was hilarious at the ESPN desk he’s the grand master of bull……making up stuff off the cuff! lol! Have you been reading the Daily Foot?
Comment by Jenn Klassen — March 18, 2007 @ 3:41 pm
Well writing on this board has been cool. If nothing else because I got to “meet” a fellow Switchfooter from Colombia today. They emailed me for concert pictures. It was really neat! Legit English too!
The Daily Foot has been really fun reading. Its wild to think that the same band that was in Nashville yesterday was here in Edmonton less than a month ago!
Comment by Jenn — March 19, 2007 @ 1:22 pm
ha ha yeah, drew kept that dance going for that whole part, i was amazed..and that espn clip was hilariousdid you read the stuff on the bottom of the screen flying by…amazing! these gus are so funny! no i havent read the daily foot, but the one about edmonton was pretty sweet..how they talked about West Ed..loads of fun..those guys are awesome
Comment by Brandon — March 19, 2007 @ 6:42 pm
I watched Podcast 20 a few times. First, to watch Drew dance. Again to hear what Tim was going on about and then a third time to read what they had going at the bottom of the ESPN clip. Jon singing that Jimmy Eats Worms song, (I think that’s what it was), hilarious! The guy is cracked!
I didn’t get to read the Edmonton daily foot, any idea if its archived somewhere? If so, got the link by chance? We are SO getting the Edmonton show up to the top of the 10 most commented! We can TOTALLY whip Worchester, I know we can! Personal best!!!!
Comment by Jenn — March 19, 2007 @ 8:13 pm
and I’m bringing it up to 19(comments that is) !!! Anyhow, I found the archive link for the Daily Foot on the boards in Switchfoot’s “official” site. SWEET!
Here it is for one and all!!!!

Who’s with me???? Glad you enjoyed the pic’s they were great and I can’t even take credit (except for editing them)! I’m so jealous that you’ve got the 4:12 clapping down! I’ve attempted it. Maybe I’m just like Drew, you know, thought I was a good clapper. Only to find out that I’m a crap clapper… Thought I had rythm!
Comment by Jenn — March 20, 2007 @ 3:06 pm
Sorry, WE’RE AWESOME!
Comment by Jenn — March 20, 2007 @ 3:08 pm
ha ha ha yeah maybe….i guess i have some pretty mad clapping skills..i agree…come all you edmontonians, lets jack up the comments, we can do it! and i know its extremely off topic and irrelevant now that the season’s nearly done, but LETS GO OILERS LETS GO!!!!!!!
Comment by Brandon — March 20, 2007 @ 3:21 pm
you know, we could take this into an entire other direction and throw out the “Ryan Smith” situation for discussion?
NAH!!!!!!!
Yesterday on the Switchfoot Boards, there was a call for Switchfan’s in LA to go and be part of the filming of their new video. OH TO LIVE IN LA!!!! (except their weather isn’t nearly as great as ours is).
And then.. there’s a contest to win tickets to see Switchfoot, get flown there, meet them back stage etc, but its only open to Americans! The agony is sever right now! However, I console myself with the fact that WE are number 1 on the most commented board! Take THAT Worcester!
Comment by Jenn — March 20, 2007 @ 6:37 pm
yeah, id rather not discuss “him” right now…but yeah i tried to enter the contest, but then it was only open to americans…oh well us canadians still ROCK!!!! WOOOOOHHH!!! GO SWITCHFOOT!!!!!!!!
Comment by Brandon — March 20, 2007 @ 7:33 pm
We are SO kicking butt! (as in, this is comment number 27).
In other news, did you vote for a song before they came to Edmonton?
I didn’t know about it till during the concert. However, Chem 6a is a kickin song so I was well pleased with the Edmonton fanage’s vote.
Have you been to see Switchfoot before? I know they’ve played Red’s a few times in the past (I found out about it AFTER the fact)! This was my first concert for them. And, I must say, they did NOT disappoint!
Jon was just wailin on that cymbal drum wasn’t he? Totally out of control! I saw Bono do the same kind of thing on a concert DVD.
I think Switchfoot opened for U2 for a bit?
Comment by Jenn — March 20, 2007 @ 10:32 pm
Today I found out just how versatile and amazing Switchfoot is! I found the cover tune for Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love” song that Switchfoot did for Yahoo.
I think they did it much better! Here’s the link for anyone who wants to check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heiswnjSVuU&NR
Drew is hilarious! “We chose this song because its Power packed with energy and bling”!?
Comment by Jenn — March 21, 2007 @ 10:22 pm

Comment by Brandon — March 22, 2007 @ 5:03 pm
I am totally hooked on that cover tune! They did such an amazing job with it! Unbelievable! I missed the voting because I didn’t know about it. I had no idea what Jon was talking about when he mentioned it, lol! Did you get the video clip I sent? I was able to send it thru yousendit something or other. If your new to Switchfoot, what cd’s do you have? I’ve been totally hardcore with them for five years. They SO rock! I’m 100% positive they’ll keep coming to Edmonton when they tour Canada due to our fabulous waterpark! YAY! Bring it! And with this comment, we bring the grand total to 30! WAH-HOO!

I have all the cd’s but the first one. I bought it in Vancouver and listened to it for a few days, then gave it to my niece. I’m cravin some Chem 6a today though! I’ll listen to the bootleg! Yeah, I never thought I’d say this but YAY for WEM too! Guaranteed to lure Switchfoot 3 hours north of Calgary…. Gotta love their addiction to all things water!!! Not to mention the ROCKIN, KICKIN crowds at (the venue formerly known as Reds)! No prob about the video clip. You missed out on my amazing singing talent but when I put my record out, WITH Switchfoot, I’ll send you a free copy! (LOL)!

it was my first concert and i drove 18hours south to edmonton to see it and it was worth it!!! jon stood rite over top of me. I held his hand too. Most bands suck when they play live but they are the best and the only ones who can probly pull it off!!!
Comment by olivia — March 23, 2007 @ 7:01 pm
WOW 18 hours South to Edmonton? THAT’S dedication! Have you seen them live before? Where are you from? North West Territories or the Yukon?

Hey. For those of you who were wondering about the title of 4:12. It’s not a Bible verse, it’s the length of the track from the album. You’ve probly figured it out by now, but whatever.
Comment by Ben — March 27, 2007 @ 11:56 am
Actually Ben, it’s both.
Comment by Clifton — March 27, 2007 @ 1:46 pm
I posted the question about the song 4:12, I heard later the song was exactly 4 minutes 12 seconds long but Clifton, are you saying it is a Biblical reference? And if so, what?!
Comment by Jenn — March 27, 2007 @ 5:59 pm
Podcast 21!

Umm just for those of you who were wondering about the cowbell and guitar the security guard did take the guitar back and i got the cowbell and they definetley did not take it back cause it is in my room so yah thought i would just let you no
Comment by Larissa — March 31, 2007 @ 2:58 pm
The song 4:12 is not a Biblical reference; it is simply referring to an experience Jon had in which he woke up at exactly 4:12 for about two weeks straight. He was inspired to write a song. And that’s what it’s talking about. He explained it at the Tucson concert a few days ago.
Comment by Jorden — April 1, 2007 @ 2:34 pm
yeah i didn’t see them take the cowbell back. They couldn’t of been that cheap! The guitar would be understandable though.
Comment by Renny — April 1, 2007 @ 10:32 pm
and as we head towards the 50 comments mark….
I didn’t think they would take the cow bell back. I thought for sure they had given the guitar because I didn’t see anyone take it back.
(but it was dark and sweaty in there). What a totally amazing experience it was to see them live! Life changing!
I’ve added some links through out the comments to various Switchfootage related things, if you haven’t seen some of these, go through and take a look.
….and cut!!!
Comment by Jenn — April 2, 2007 @ 12:57 pm
ha ha ha thats weird…one time a few months ago i woke up at exactly 5:38 every night for like 3 weeks straight….weird…but anywho yeah i knew they took back the guitar cause i watched the guitar tec put it away after the song. waht an amazing concert…..(49)

Well for some reason the link to the Awakening Video isn’t working.
Check out Switchfeed for April 5th and they should have the video.
Sorry about the “technical difficulties”. ARGH
p.s. SWITCHFOOT STILL ROCKS!
Comment by Jenn — April 6, 2007 @ 8:30 pm
If you want a fuller analysis of 4:12 search the official boards or I believe Switchfeed.com
Comment by Clifton — April 7, 2007 @ 9:16 am
Well I hav no doubt that the song 4:12 was originally derived from his wakingup at 4:12 but you can’t be seriosu that all of those lyrics are about a time of night. Jon being a man of God no doubt looked into this number. And look what we find in Hebrews 4:12
“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow [the body], and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
Sounds a lot like ’souls aren’t built of stone, sticks and bones’ in fact that verse kinda implies that the human spirit is much more than material, and the idea that it is is nonsensical. So you’ll excuse me, but there is a bit of a biblical reference.
Comment by Clifton — April 7, 2007 @ 9:25 am
Amen Clifton! There’s some awesome Scripture with 4:12 if you go through the whole Bible. Some are nonsense (not nonsensical) and some are amazing. It was my pal who asked and wondered and questioned if 4:12 was a Scripture verse. It got us thinking so I posted the question on this board and the Official Switchfoot Board. That sneaky Jon Foreman! Smart, funny, Godly and thought provoking! Whodathunkit?
Comment by Jenn — April 7, 2007 @ 11:35 am
I guess the Foot is a-foot back on tour. I read a review of the Ventura show and boy, it brought back memories from this show!
COME BACK SWITCHFOOT!

It’s awesome to find fellow switchfoot lovers. You guys crack me up. Did you meet the band after the show? They are the most gracious people I’ve ever met. I seen them twice so far. The first time was this past November, and Drew had his daughter with him (I think his wife too). He got into a caravan with them. I got an awesome, heart warming picture of him and his daughter. They are totally dedicated to their fans. DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO BURN THESE BOOTLEGS TO A DISC? THE COMPUTER KEEPS TELLING ME THE FILES HAVE ERRORS. PLEASE EMAIL ME AT KSG109@COMCAST.NET AND HELP ME!!!!!!!!

Also, I want to mention some superb folk who work behind the scenes like Clifton, Phil, Gellie, Sarah (at Bandfarm), Andy Barron. You guys make Switchfoot so accessable and for that I HEARTILY thank you!
