REVIEW:

“Wow! What can I say, maybe i’m biased, but I thought the show was awesome. Maybe meeting Tim, Jon and Jarome had something to do with it. Overall, the show was really fun. Copeland opened, and things were very…shall we say…spontaneous. The crowd, being 21 myself, was really quite young, I was suprised. Throughout the Copeland set, whenever there was a break between songs, dead silence, seriously, it was kind of awkward, until someone would yell out “Nice hair!” or something to that effect. I’m glad the singer had good stage presence The drummer was out at the merch counter after, so I chatted with him, very friendly, very open to questions. At one point they said “We’re called Copeland, and we’re from Florida” and someone yelled “I LOVE COLDPLAY!!!”"

“As for our friends in Swithfoot, our interview, which was AMAZING by the way went well. Anyone who wonders, they have your questions, so you need not try to remember them. Something about passing the whole line circling the block and going right to the door, pulling the cell phone out and calling someone, immediately followed by the secuirty guard coming, opening the door and saying “you, in, you, in”. Poor kids standing in the cold and muck . Our interview concluded with Jon, having come in from outside about 10 minutes prior, deciding that he wanted to hit the water slides at the hotel where the concert was taking place. No idea if the boys went, Jon seemed genuinely excited that he had discovered a ’secret’ entrance into the venue from the hotel.”

“Secret was a relative term. I don’t know if maybe it was just because I knew what he looked like and was wearing or what, but about 3 or 4 times during the Copeland set Jon was walking around through the crowd. Did anyone notice? Uhm..no. We just sort of exchanged knowing glances every time he passed by. We got great ’seats’ too, having afforded ourselves the authority of going back in through the back-stage entrance instead of going into the line. We were just stage left, grabbed a seat, stashed our jackets, shwag and autographed stuffs, and took up an amazing standing spot in the aisle. A wall to lean on, and an un-inhibited view of the stage, amazing. I’ve got some absolutely awesome pictures, and this slideshow does them no justice, but http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOdhnpvQq2o is the link if anyone wants to see them. If you check out my other vids on YouTube, i’ll be adding some more Switchfoot stuff in the future too.”

“Amazing setlist, played pretty much everything I wanted, minus 24 and Daisy. Maybe they did play Daisy…don’t remember…The fan-vote song was ‘The Blues’ (see video on YouTube, poorly focused, sorry). I was hoping that they’d play Crazy in Love but meh.”

“I was also kind of sad to learn that what has been referred to as “Canadian Dream” is actually just “American Dream” with revised lyrics. I was thinking (don’t ask why…) that it was the Sam Roberts song of the same name.”

“Highlight of the night (setlist wise) was an off-the-cuff fan request of Chem 6A (see videos), Let Your Love Be Strong, and Shadow Proves the Sunshine. PLUS I got to tell Jon how much ‘Shadow’ means to me now having been to Zambia and seen the DVD documentary thingy about the song. Amazing!”

“Overall, ***** out of *****. No idea whether it worked, but Jon was trying to convince the audience to all go to the water slides after the show…My buddy and I tried to stick around after hoping for a western-Canadian style acoustic gig with Jon while the stage was packed up but the security guards kicked EVERYONE out. Oh well…”

“Oh, another highlight, “We Are One Tonight”, absolutely electric energy shot through the place, spirits were flying…truly unforgettable.”
