This show was fantastic. My 13th Foot show, and possibly the best. Although Tim was dearly missed, the deep emotions Jon was going through really came through the music and what he had to say between songs. I hope everything is alright with their family, but their faithfulness to music and their fans really showed through.
Plus they had a fantastic setlist including oldies such as Let That Be Enough, Learning to Breathe, Company Car, Only Hope and a quick version of Chem6a.

Just want to say that this was my first show/concert EVER. Let me just say I’m glad Swtichfoot was my first. Thanks to Jon and the guys for making my first experience one I’ll never forget. This is Your Life was amazing and On Fire was great because it’s a song my girlfriend and I have always shared. Thanks again for an amazing show!

That was my 6th show, I was really close to the front, usually just 1 or 2 people in front of me. Even though Tim was not there, I think it was the best Switchfoot Show I have ever been to. It was cool because I got to meet Drew for the 3rd time and I got to show him the shirt I made with him on it.

Did they really open with “24″? Opening with an acoustic song is a really different approach…shows that Switchfoot is willing to experiment.

I think starting off with an acoustic song is brilliant.

that show was awesome! from starting off with 24 to ending with only hope and dare you to move. Yo Phil Smith that was a pretty sick shirt of Drew. i remember seein you in line at the alley. Definately a show to remember!

yeah, ro~jo, the reason they started off with 24 was so that jon could explain the tim situation to us before doing a full-band song and confusing everyone.
they did the same thing the next night in baltimore.

p.s. one of the more hilarious parts of this concert (which is captured on the bootleg) is after Jon said that Tim wouldn’t be there, some girl in the back let out a shriek of horror. hahaha
Comment by gellie — March 15, 2007 @ 2:52 pm
Gellie…I think that girl was my friend and I =)
But the funniest moment was definitely when all those guys up front kept yelling for Chem 6A. Or that sarcastic girl during the Copeland portion of the show.

Oh my gosh, that was most definitely me shrieking uncontrollably in the background on the bootleg. I’m sure a ton of girls screamed…but Tim was seriously the one I was most looking forward to cause of his sweet power jumps and he said that and I just screamed and couldn’t take it….then my friend and I hugged each other in despair…and the concert was amazing anyways. I loved how Drew was going to play bass first and Jon was like, “Do you have anything to say for yourself?” and Drew took his time and came up to the front and said, “No.” Switchfoot is so amazing…and I can’t wait to see them again with Tim there. eeeeeeeee.

Woah, how did you meet Drew????? I definitely did not get to meet any of them and that is one of my goals in life. Did you just stay after the concert longer? heh.
I seriously think if they had played every song they’d ever written and my limbs were falling off, i would be content to stay in their presence and bask in their glory for days on end.
Geez guys, stop adding to the noise.

This show was amazing!! IT was my first switchfoot concert and definetly not my last!! I was so sad that Tim wasnt there but I know I will see them again. Every song they played was amazing!! They are seirously my most favorite band!!

Heh - the Chem 6A guys were me and my friend Justin. We were psyched when he finally played it! It was definitely a great show. Having Tim gone let us see a less-planned, more “raw” side of what Switchfoot can do. Opening with 24 was genius, too.
We hung around after the show and got to meet Jon, which was sweet. He’s a nice guy - funny, and pretty down to earth. What a band!
This was my first Foot show, I loved it! I agree that it was awesome to open the show with an acoustic song. And of course because of the Tim situation it made sense. The guys who filled in were good though. The whole show rocked, my only disappointment was not hearing “Dirty Second Hands” and a couple others from the Nothing Is Sound album. Can’t wait to see them again!

I had really wanted to hear ‘Burn Out Bright.’ But I did get to touch Jon’s shoe during ‘The Shadow Proves the Sunshine.’ haha.

I love how they switched off bass players all night. Love the effort. No one can replace Tim, though. The man is a genius on the bass.
